Revision 12
We are done improving the design for now. This is Revision 12. With just two Cams (small and large) and bag movement via the Bag Sled, we can adjust our ventilator to accommodate a wide range of potential patients, all done mechanically!
No software to crash, microprocessors to program, or fancy gears and motors to operate. We have a simple motor that spins a Cam which ultimately compresses a bag (inhale) and then allows the bag to naturally inflate (exhale). Simple and rock solid.
Blair is knocking out nine of these for Jeffrey to run through accelerated testing. I’ll get one to run through testing in my garage. The data for these 10 will supplement our FDA application. We are going to need to compile a ton of repeatable data sets like pressure/volume curves over breathing cycles. Wish we had the right tools to measure! We are going to need to build some of the tools ourselves.
We are going to need three volunteers next Friday who are comfortable with assembling prototypes that can be in Kaneohe. I’ll reach out to some friends who have already expressed interest. If I can get kalo, we’ll have some hand pounded pa’i’ai and fish to grind!
